A COME file saved today may be an older release
Your file's saved date records a local event. It does not tell you when that version of COME was released.
Read local timestamps carefully
Browsers and file managers can show download, modification or other dates. The meaning depends on the interface. Copying a file between locations can also change some displayed timestamps, so use version information for release comparisons.
Check a concrete example
If the same version is downloaded on two different days, the local dates differ while the software version may remain the same. This is why a “today” label in Downloads cannot establish that you have the newest release.
Keep useful provenance
Note where the file came from and which version it claims to contain. A dated listing provides a comparison point but not a guarantee about every similarly named local file. Do not edit timestamps to reconcile mismatched records.
A useful next step
Compare source and version fields before installing, even when the saved-file date is recent.
